Welcome to join a collaborative study trip organized by Spårvagnsstäderna and our sister organizations NLRA and Letbaner.DK.
The program is now completed for our study visit to Denmark where we will visit three different light rail systems in different stages of completition. When we visit the cities, Aarhus will have been operating for a while. Odense will have recently opened and Copenhagen are in the midst of construction.
The cities all have different characters, but have comparable conditions to many European cities and there are plenty of important experiences to learn from.
The trip will last three days (two nights) and there is opportunity to leave or join the trip along the way if you can't participate on the entire trip, but please note that no reduction in price is done for this. For those who wish to arrive already on Sunday evening, we organize a preactivity which is a visit to the railroad museum in Ryomgård. Food and entrance fee is included in the trip's price for this, accomodation will need to be arranged on your own however.
Program:
Day 0 - Arrival late in the afternoon to Aarhus train station, and together we will ride the light rail to Ryomgård to visit the railway museum there. A light meal is served while enjoying the collection.
Day 1 - Aarhus - In the morning we will visit and be guided at Aarhus letbane's depot and OCC. During the afternoon we will visit key points of the light rail system in and outside of Aarhus. In the evening we meet at Aarhus streetfood for dinner (not included in the fee) and afterwards we check in at our hotel. Free evening.
Day 2 - Odense - After breakfast we take the train together to Odense. Before we explore the Odense light rail's depot we have lunch together. When in the depot, we will receive a guided tour before we hit the rails to see how the light rail is embedded in the city fabric. In the evening we will have dinner together.
Day 3 - Copenhagen - In the morning we leave Odense by train for Copenhagen, where we will visit the Copenhagen light rail. With the help of public transport we will visit the depot, and after that we will be shown key areas of the coming light rail system. The program ends 15.00 at Lyngby station. Those remaining can have an evening meal together at Ulrikkenborg plads (not included).
Price will be 8700 SEK per person. Meals (aside from the ones specifically excluded above), accomodation, transport, entrance fees and guided tours are included. Travel to and from the trip and additional accomodation is not included.
Registration is binding. You can change the participants, but please not that additional costs might be added, such as rebooking train tickets. The trip can be paid by invoice, or by credit card in the booking dialogue. Changes in booking are always to be paid by invoice. As we are not a travel agency, the participant is responsible to have insurance coverage for unforeseen circumstances.
