Back in 2014 Eskilstuna was planning to prepare a report of what steps needed to be taken to introduce the tram to the city. But after a directional change in the city's political majority in the fall of 2014, the study was cancelled. Discussion and preliminary ideas for a 21 km tramway was discussed, and the proposed line is today operated by uses. If we ever see a tramway line in Eskilstuna it will be after 2030 if the city shows a renewed interest. However, following the fast urbanisation of the area, decisions could be made before then.
